Uploading videos to MediaAMP allows media content to be stored on the MediaAMP cloud and avoid using course space in Canvas. In addition, MediaAMP prevents media from being shared and accessed on other sites outside of ASU. All faculty and staff have MediaAMP accounts available. However, user roles may vary on what content can be shared between others within MediaAMP.

Course cards in the Canvas Dashboard can be uniquely customized by a user and does not reflect towards others enrolled in the same course. Aside from choosing which courses to display, Canvas allows users to freely move their course cards on their Dashboard to any viewing order they please. However, once users arrange their course cards, they cannot revert the display back to the defaulted order (“ alphabetically by course name and your role in the course - Canvas”).

Purpose: Ally is a third-party tool enabled at ASU to provide accessibility scores on files housed in a Canvas course. Accessibility scores show instructors how accommodating their content is for a student with disabilities and meets accessibility standards. The Ally Dashboard in a Canvas course provides an overall accessibility score for the course in addition to breaking down what documents need their scores improved.

**Students will NOT be able to see this navigation link in the Canvas course. This link is only for instructors.**

In MyASU, under “My Classes”, an “Attend” button will be available next to a class’s title for students to join via Zoom. By default, the instructor’s personal meeting room will be linked to the button. If a different Zoom room should be used, instructors may update the room link via the “Class Tools” icon to the right. A new room can be automatically created to their Zoom account (scheduled as a recurring meeting) from MyASU or the instructor may enter a zoom room number they already created (should be scheduled as recurring).

**If more than one instructor is listed to teach a class, by default all their personal zoom rooms will appear as buttons to the student, corresponding to their last names. However, if a new room is created or set via the “Change this” option, only one button will appear and all other instructors will be made alternative hosts.**

iClickers can be used to take live attendance, polling, and quiz results from participating students during a class session. Courses created in iClickers can be connected to the instructor’s Canvas course, allowing for grade syncing which will create grade columns and populate scores in Canvas automatically.

**Before starting, create an iClicker instructor account using your ASU email, then create the course that will be connected to a Canvas course.**

iClickers can be used to take live attendance, polling, and quiz results from participating students during a class session. After integrating, or connecting, a Canvas course to the iClickers course, instructors can easily sync grades that have been collected from class sessions to their Canvas gradebook. iClickers will create grade column(s) in the gradebook with each students’ respective score(s). The instructor will need to sync grades to Canvas each time new activity or scores are updated in iClickers.

Images can be added to a Canvas course by adding it to the Rich Content Editor, or RCE. The option, “Embed Image” is located as a picture icon in the RCE’s toolbar and can be used to pull images from a URL, Canvas, computer’s desktop, or from the copyright-free website Flickr. Using images can not only add attractiveness to course material but also provide more visual aid support on provided information.

**Please also be sure to add a description, or alternative text, to added images so students with special accommodations may also understand the displayed material accurately. See resources below for guides on accessibility.**

Google Drive is a cloud-based file storage system available for all ASU faculty, staff, and students. It is integrated into ASU Canvas so files can be easily added to any Rich Content Editor by instructors or course designers. Files can be linked or embedded into a Canvas Page (or any Rich Content Editor) for students to view. Google Documents can even be edited within the Canvas Page or Google Drive to make updates without the need of reuploading a new version.

The following process uses a Canvas Page, but can be performed in any Rich Content Editor in the ASU Canvas system.

**Students must also authorize access to Google Drive in order to access shared content. Course Designers will only be able to properly test the functionality of the steps through another users assigned as a “Student” in the designated course. “Student View” will not be able to authorize access to the Google Drive item.**

**Make sure file share settings are set for easy access by other users. Ideally, set files or folder to “Anyone with the link can access” rather than isolating to ASU accounts as most users have personal Google accounts**

The “View” option in the New Gradebook allows instructors to change ways they see the gradebook by either column, rows, or certain criteria. Use the features on a needs basis and decide what will help you view the gradebook in the best way. View updates in the New Gradebook are for instructors, they do not affect the view for students.
