Activity examples
- Visual research summary: Students research a course topic and create an infographic or research poster that communicates key findings, evidence and sources to a defined audience. Ask students to make intentional choices about hierarchy, visuals and the amount of information included.
- Example: Students synthesize findings from several scholarly sources into an infographic designed to explain the topic to a general audience. Along with the infographic, students submit a brief explanation of the choices they made when translating academic information into a visual format.
- Multimedia explainer: Students create a short video that explains a concept, process or argument using a combination of narration, text, images, graphics and other media.
- Example: Instead of completing a traditional written explanation, students create a two- to three-minute explainer video that introduces a course concept, provides an example and explains why the concept matters. Students identify their intended audience before creating the video and make production choices appropriate for that audience.
- Digital storytelling or web project: Students create an Adobe Express webpage that combines text, images, video, links and other media to tell a story, document a project or present their work to an audience.
- Example: Students build a scrolling webpage documenting a semester project. They introduce the topic or problem, show evidence of their process, incorporate relevant media and conclude with a reflection on what they learned.

Accessibility, privacy, and other considerations
Accessibility
- When creating graphics, presentations, webpages, videos and other media, consider accessibility throughout the design process. Use sufficient color contrast, readable text, meaningful alternative text and captions or transcripts for audio and video when appropriate. Review exported or published content to confirm that accessibility features are preserved in the final format.
Generative AI
- Adobe Express includes features powered by Adobe Firefly. Before using generative AI in a course activity, establish expectations for when and how students may use these features and consider whether students should disclose or document their use. Available Firefly features and generative credit limits may vary based on ASU's Adobe education license.
Privacy and sharing
- Consider what information students include when creating or publishing Adobe Express projects. Before asking students to share work publicly, determine whether public access is necessary for the learning activity and provide appropriate alternatives when needed.
Copyright and licensed content
- Adobe Express provides access to Adobe Stock images through ASU's Adobe license. Stock images licensed through your ASU Adobe account can continue to be used in projects created with Adobe applications.
