Zoom meetings can be recorded then saved to the host’s desktop computer, locally. Participants may even record and save meetings if the host permits it. Saved meetings will create a video file, or MP4, that is playable on the desktop’s media player application. In addition, recordings will have other formats that can be used as needed such as an audio-only M4A and a transcription of the audio in a TXT format. Some meetings may also have a saved TXT file of the chatroom history included.
**If instructors wish to share recordings to their Canvas courses, please upload the video to a video streaming website first, such as MediaAMP, then embed it on a page. This will avoid using the limited memory space provided on a Canvas course, 2GB limit.**
